In this regard, it makes no sense to criticize the start of direct flights with Russia. Air travel is part of commercial and economic relations. One million diasporas and their families need free movement, a visa-free regime.
Garibashvili explained that the country annually receives hundreds of millions of dollars in transfers from the diaspora, we are talking about billions. These funds support both businesses and families. The government seeks to help compatriots at home or abroad and is not going to ban anything.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled the visa regime with Georgia and also lifted the ban on direct flights for Russian airlines introduced in 2019.
