A picture of the first American transgender woman to become a US admiral, Rachel Levine, has gone viral on the internet.
The government veteran celebrated the occasion with Levine and an LGBTQ representative during a reception at the French Embassy in the United States to mark the celebration of Bastille Day.
Rachel Levine was promoted to Admiral of the United States Public Health Service Officer Corps in 2021. She became the first transgender person to hold this position and has since been widely honored for her achievements.
