March 3 is World Writer’s Day in many countries. Especially for this date, Liters conducted a survey on the topic of writing among users.
According to the results of the study, almost half of the respondents (43%) have already tried writing, writing stories or notes at an amateur level. A third (33%) only dream of publishing their own book, and 15% have already become an author, are working on their work or have published it.
The audience sees the main advantages in the profession of writing as the possibility of creative fulfillment (78%), the prospects of increasing the level of erudition (36%) and sharing life experience with the general public (34%). The key components of a successful career in this area were diligence and perseverance (67%), the ability to express thoughts beautifully (65%), reading and education (64%).
Among the representatives of foreign literature, users in their work would like to be mainly JK Rowling – the author of the Harry Potter saga is in the lead with a score of 23.4% of the vote. In second place is Stephen King (20.6%), followed by Erich Maria Remarque (14.6%).
Of the Russian-speaking authors, users are inspired by Mikhail Bulgakov (24.8%), Anton Chekhov (19%), and Fyodor Dostoevsky (14.9%) is in the third line.
