According to law enforcement officials, on the night of September 17, a 56-year-old resident of Yeniseisk drove his personal car to the house of a 53-year-old acquaintance and found his wife there. In a fit of jealousy, the man pulled a gun from the car and shot the homeowner in the chest, investigators said.
When the shooter, back behind the wheel, tried to hide from police called to the scene, he headed toward the ferry crossing, but lost control and the car slid into the river. Rescuers found a vehicle in the water and are now searching for the body.
The victim with a gunshot wound was hospitalized, is under medical supervision, information about his condition is being clarified.
Investigators are questioning the woman who allegedly sparked the conflict. According to her, she has not had any relationship with her husband lately.
