Law enforcement officers detained a suspect in the murder of two men with no fixed place of residence in Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported today.
The department reported that in the spring of 2005, on the street 60 years of the Komsomol, corpses of men aged 42 and 49 with signs of criminal death were found. The criminal case opened in connection with the double murder could not be resolved immediately, but recently the joint efforts of the employees of the Investigative Committee and the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of the Interior were crowned with success.
Detectives noticed inconsistencies in witness testimonies and these contradictions led to certain investigations. As a result, investigators and criminologists came to the conclusion that five teenagers, who in 2005 were between 15 and 17 years old, were involved in the murder of homeless people.
According to law enforcement officials, on the night of April 7, minors started a fight with homeless people. They were beaten to death with hands, feet and sticks.
One of the suspects was detained by security forces in Zheleznogorsk; the man is detained. The second alleged murderer is in prison for a particularly serious crime. The rest are no longer alive. The investigation is ongoing.
