Yaroslav Dronov, a native of the city of Novomoskovsk (which is located in the Tula region), tried to break through to glory several times. A graduate of the Gnesinka jazz and pop singing faculty in 2013 took part in the show “Factor A”, where Alla Pugacheva drew attention to him. And the next year he took part in the “Voice” – Pelageya and Dima Bilan turned to him in a blind audition (he chose Pelageya as a mentor, eventually reaching the final and taking second place).

Just to say that Yaroslav after he became a famous singer will not work. He became famous last year when his song “Let’s get up” appeared. It went on to premiere on February 23, one day before the start of the special operation.

“LET’S WAKE UP”

As long as we’re still alive with you

and the truth is behind us

Someone is watching us from above.

native eyes.

they smiled like children

and marched towards the sky.

let’s get up

And approach them…

The song, the first patriotic in Yaroslav’s work, was dedicated to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. But it resonated very well with the mood of thousands of Russians. A few months later it sounded – completely! – in the program “News of the week”. To date, it has 37 million views on YouTube. And in January 2023, Nikolai Rastorguev said that it can be considered a “special operations anthem.”

And soon a song appeared with the refrain “I’m Russian, I’m going to the end // I’m Russian, my blood is from my father // I’m Russian and I’m lucky // I’m Russian, to annoy the whole world…” She also became very successful. The great composer Eduard Artemiev said in one of his last interviews: “He really hooked me, and really. SHAMAN has a powerful soul. “I’m Russian” is a very good song. And it is a great joy, the appearance of such a person on our stage.

And Yaroslav, acting under the pseudonym SHAMAN, quickly became one of the main stars of the Russian stage. This year, he appeared on Channel One’s New Year’s Light immediately after the President’s congratulations and the chiming of the clock, an honor few have received.

Where does the pseudonym SHAMAN come from? It’s just that the fans considered his voice to be somehow shamanic, magical, they wrote about it in the comments. (In fact, paganism is not close to Yaroslav – he professes Orthodoxy and believes that there are religious motives in all his songs, at least in the form of a hint).

In an interview with KP, he said: “It just so happened that I made my way on my own. None of my colleagues in show business have ever helped me. Therefore, I have never had contact with them and never have. I have traveled my path and I feel comfortable, because it was there that I met my audience. And believe it or not, I promoted and promoted my songs through the Internet. And one more thing: “When they tell me that, they say, I have a national song, I don’t really like being put in the category of genres. Because for me this is not a patriotic song, but a song from the heart, this is my attitude…”

In early 2023, SHAMAN reported to the special military operations zone. More precisely, at first he sang in front of the wounded in the Podolsk military hospital, and then – in front of military personnel in the Kherson region. “In response, the guys thanked me for the performance in their own way: they gave a volley of salute to heaven with their machine guns and machine guns,” she wrote on his telegram channel.
