A new car has appeared in Russia – this is the Chinese Kaiyi E5 sedan. Serial production of new items began at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad.

“The car is quite a cozy and beautiful sedan, a little more than the popular Hyundai Solaris,” automotive expert Igor Morzharetto told kp.ru. – It will be manufactured both with a manual gearbox and with a variator. Avtotor will soon announce the release of 4 more models, and it is planned to produce from 50 to 100 thousand cars in total. About half of them are Kaiyi, which is already in high demand.

In Russian, it is correct to call it “Kai”, but for simplicity, people have already nicknamed it “Kai”. It is produced by the SKD method, moreover, the body is already painted.

– The only Russian, but very important detail is the Akom battery, – the expert specified.

According to the characteristics, the novelty is between Kia Rio and Kia Cerato, and the cost will be about 1 million rubles, according to the factory. But according to Morzharetto’s expectations, the final price in the salons will be in the range of 1.5-1.8 million rubles.

It is noteworthy that the novelty was turned on even before the New Year, as part of the “Christmas Tree – Avtotor” campaign. Then the car factory workers fulfilled the dream of a student from one of Kaliningrad’s orphanages, according to the Chinese-avtomobili.rf website. 13-year-old Serezha was driven to the assembly shop and taken (albeit in the passenger seat) in an unknown car at the time. And now everything is open.

The Kaiyi E5 will go on sale this quarter.
