A new version of the Russian series “Superbeavers” will be filmed in France

In 2015, work began on the film “Super Beavers” by Dmitry Dyachenko. The plot, in case anyone hasn’t seen it, is quite simple: a meteorite fell on the Bobrov family’s house. Everyone inside instantly gained superpowers: hyper strength, invisibility, levitation, teleportation and even immortality. It would seem, what does the British series “Misfits” have to do with it, whose characters turned into superheroes after being struck by lightning? Of course, it has nothing to do with it. Our Bobrovs, instead of turning from losers into avengers, as in “Misfits,” begin to find themselves in the most ridiculous situations. The project featured the best artists of the country: Pavel Derevyanko, Oksana Akinshina, Irina Pegova, Roman Madyanov, as well as the legendary performer of the role of Sharikov Vladimir Tolokonnikov.

This does not mean that the comedy, which was released on the big screens and then on STS, was a resounding success. The only place where we managed to get a lot of views was on the BadComedian review. However, this did not prevent the creators of the project (they later released the blockbuster “Cheburashka”) from filming the second part of the film – “Super Beavers. People’s Avengers”, in which the main characters flee from Russian reality to Thailand.

This does not happen often, but the Russian project interested Europeans, and in France they decided to make a new version of “Super Beavers”.

“It was a long process, but the opportunity to buy the rights came up, and I did it,” confirmed producer Jean-Marie Laronz (“Everything is Very Serious,” “Murders in Amboise”) at the One Ekaterinburg film festival. “Sixth.” — I liked the film, it’s good, funny, kind, and I’m sure that the story will work in France. We’ve already started working on the production. The plot will be adapted to our realities: the humor and social context will be different from the Russian one. This will be an absolutely French story.

It has not yet been announced exactly when we can expect the film to appear on the big screens, who will be able to act in the project and who will become the director. Laronz, who worked as a producer on the Russian sports drama Elastico: The Twelfth Player, only added that he is currently negotiating the purchase of the rights to several more Russian films.
