The procession gathered more than 1,000 people dressed in Yakut, Even, Dolgan, Yukagir, Evenki and other national costumes. People were walking from Ordzhonikidze Square to Lenin Square.
Even the Lord of Cold Chyskhaan, who led the column from the Oymyakonsky district, decided to take part in the colorful event. This summer, it is in his native Cold Pole where a national party will take place: Ysyakh Olonkho.
The participants of the procession were congratulated by the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Spiritual Development of the Republic Afanasy Noev. He thanked everyone who preserves the cultural traditions of the peoples of Russia. The procession ended with a large round dance – osuokhai.
It is worth noting that every year the number of participants in the parade increases, and the costumes become brighter and more beautiful. Now in Yakutia about five thousand people are engaged in folk crafts. Their number is constantly growing. The title of popular teacher was granted to 275 people, more than 600 are teachers. In all regions of the republic there are 112 artisan associations that participate in popular applied arts and traditional arts and crafts.
