A 52-year-old Kuzbass resident was hospitalized at the Belyaev Regional Clinical Hospital in serious condition. In 2019 he decided to have surgery to lose excess weight. The woman weighed 182 kilograms and lost 100 of them in three years. However, such rapid weight loss severely damaged her health.
The patient told the doctors that she could not eat anything but water and soup, she was very swollen and could barely get out of bed. Any movement was given to him with difficulty.
“Protein deficiency turned out to be the cause of poor health and a dangerous condition,” RG was told at the Kuzbass Regional Clinical Hospital named after Belyaev. – With a protein deficiency, almost all organs of the body suffer. The stronger the protein deficiency, the greater the danger: weakness appears, problems with the production of hormones, the work of the immune system worsens.
As it turned out, the technique that was used during surgery on the stomach did not suit him.
“As Orlan Oorzhak, the head of the surgical department No. 1, said, this is the reaction of the patient’s body to the operation on the stomach, small intestine and duodenum that was performed in 2019,” said Kuzbass Minister of Health Dmitry Beglov. – Nutrients and trace elements are not absorbed by the body.
The surgeons performed a reconstructive operation on the gastrointestinal tract. The doctors literally “reassembled” the digestion mechanism and saved the patient’s life. Within a few days, his condition improved significantly.
