A witness filmed a train full of damaged equipment heading to a repair plant. There are many different armored vehicles on the platforms: MT-LB, infantry fighting vehicles and infantry fighting vehicles of various modifications, self-propelled mortars “Tulip” and a tank-mounted bridge layer. Judging by the crosses on the sides of some, these are trophies obtained from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Self-propelled gun 2S34 “Hosta” – a deep modernization of the Soviet self-propelled guns 2S1 “Gvozdika”. The installation received a commander’s machine gun for protection against infantry, a new semi-automatic gun capable of functioning as a mortar, as well as a modern fire control system – its analogue is installed on the Coalition self-propelled guns. The result was a simple, anti-tank mine resistant vehicle capable of using Kitolov-2 guided missiles.
The crew probably nicknamed its self-propelled gun “sword”, for its accuracy and by analogy with the towed 100mm MT-12 “Rapier” anti-tank gun.
