Vitaly Anatolyevich Konyaev was born on May 11, 1937 in Kronstadt. In 1958 he graduated from the Shchepkin Theater School and that same year he became an actor in the company of the Maly State Academic Theater.
In the 1970s-80s he taught at the Shchepkin Theater School, including stage fencing. He taught at Moscow State University and worked as a professor at the International Slavic Institute named after Derzhavin.
Film debut – 1958. Konyaev was a member of the Union of Theater Workers (since 1960) and the Union of Cinematographers (since 1964). He has toured throughout Russia and around thirty countries around the world with solo concerts: the United States, Canada, Spain, France, Finland and Sweden.
He was the husband of People’s Artist of the RSFSR Nina Drobysheva (Sasha from “Two Captains”, “Clear Sky”, where she starred with Konyaev), who died this summer. Daughter: actress Elena Drobysheva.
