The boom in prefabricated houses has led many entrepreneurs to sign up for this option to create a business. One of the latest has been Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb, who announced in mid-January this year that he launched his new startup dedicated to zero-emission modular homes.

Samara is the name he has chosen for the firm and is dedicated to building prefabricated houses, luxurious in appearance and with a size between 41 and 50 square meters. In fact, they are specially designed as an added space to a regular home, specifically to be placed in the patio.

It should be noted that among the advantages of prefabricated houses is their simple and quick installation. Although yes, it is essential to know well the requirements and necessary licenses that mark in each territory to be able to place it in the desired space. Some people opt for this type of modular housing as their main home, while others determine it in an additional space in their home where they can create a gym or a work studio.

Luxury manufactured homes with zero emissions

As indicated by Idealista, the Samara project was born as an innovation department in the Airbnb headquarters itself, but later the team worked on creating additional spaces for the backyards of low-rise homes.

At the moment they have two models of the Backyard prefabricated house, a 40 m² studio with two spaces, one for the bathroom and the other for the main room and kitchen; and another 51 m² also equipped that has a bedroom separated from the rest of the room. All homes have several solar panels installed to be able to face energy costs and be as sustainable as possible. According to the company, these real estate solutions need less than half the energy of a standard house of equivalent size.

Unlike other models, these are not so affordable and the cheapest option, the studio, is priced at 272,000 euros, while the one-bedroom one rises to 309,697 euros. Clients can customize the houses with different finishes, colors or installations. The construction time, as we said, is fast and in the case of Samara it lasts between four and six weeks.
