The aviation company Airbus has announced that it will hire 1,000 new employees in Spain throughout 2023, hydrogen and electric propulsion or digital architecture.

Airbus thus continues with its expansion strategy, adding to this figure the 1,000 hires that already took place in Spain last 2021 and that placed the total Airbus workforce in Spain at more than 13,000 employees, according to deuna in a press release.

New positions to promote decarbonization

The company intends to strengthen Airbus’ capabilities in view of the increase in commercial aircraft production scheduled for the coming years, as well as in key projects such as the future European FCAS combat aircraft, digitization plans or the company’s cyber strategy. Of these 1,000 new jobs, most will be in activities in the defense and space division, and the rest in the commercial aircraft and helicopter businesses.

Airbus announced last January its intention to recruit more than 13,000 people worldwide by 2023 to support industrial acceleration and the ambitious decarbonization roadmap, and prepare the future of aviation. The company currently employs more than 130,000 people in its businesses around the world.
