Alexander Maslyakov, the founder of the KVN movement and host of the eponymous TV show, will be buried at Moscow’s Novodevichy Cemetery, a source close to the host told TASS about this.
Maslyakov died yesterday at the age of 82. He had previously died of lung cancer.
Alexander Maslyakov is an Honored Artist of Russia, Academician of the Academy of Russian Television. He has been working on television since 1964. He hosted the programs “Hello, we are looking for talents”, “Let’s go, girls”, “Let’s go, boys”, “Merry guys”. He reported on the World Festivals of Youth and Students in Sofia, Havana, Berlin, Pyongyang and Moscow, was a regular presenter at the international song festivals in Sochi, hosted the program “Song of the Year”, was the first presenter of the program “What? Where?” – 1975.
Maslyakov was a permanent host and director of the KVN television program and the chairman of the International KVN Union. He is a laureate of the Ovation and TEFI awards.
