“This is the first and only encyclopedia dedicated to Tokombaev,” Abdykeeva noted. – Scientific publication work began three years ago. At first only one volume was planned, but due to the large amount of materials three were published and now we are already thinking about collecting and publishing a fourth book.
The official presentation of the encyclopedia will take place on November 8 at the Department of Philology of the National University of Kyrgyzstan Zhusup Balasagyn. All events are dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the writer.
“The Encyclopedia is a scientific publication in the Kyrgyz language, there are some articles in Russian, but they are not many,” says Rakhat Abdykeeva. – Of course, there is a desire to publish an encyclopedia in Russian, but, unfortunately, there is no possibility. Firstly, Aaly Tokombaev wrote mainly in Kyrgyz and publications about him were also made in Kyrgyz. Translating such a large amount of information is a huge job that requires, first of all, significant financial investments.
