An exhibition by artist Yegor Ostrov opens at the Stella di Mosca hotel

Date: October 14, 2024 Time: 11:17:36

The Stella di Mosca hotel on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street, together with the contemporary art ecosystem FRSTV Art Group, opened an exhibition by artist Yegor Ostrov. The spaces present 11 works, most of which are made in the author’s unique and recognized style.

Throughout his thirty years of creative activity, Ostrov has turned to classical images of the Italian Renaissance. The project was called “Interior Italy” as a reminder of the strong connection between Italian classical art and Russian culture. Most of the works selected for the exhibition are based on images of great Italian masters: Pontormo, Giorgione, Francesco Franchi, Antonio Canova.

Two canvases painted specifically for the hotel interior are inspired by the work of Giovanni Battista Piranesi, an Italian painter, engraver and architect. Curator Vasily Uspensky called the style in which Yegor Ostrov works “eternalism” – the art of eternity. Indeed, one of the artist’s main creative tasks is to break away from the moment and enter a contemplative, meditative state.

We remind you that from July 7 to 28, the Riesling Boyz bar will host a new exhibition “Punk or Lost” by photographer Medana. The exhibition consists of seven works, each of which can be purchased for a personal collection. We talk about it in more detail here.
