The author of the works is the outstanding master of modern calligraphy, Professor Liu Hongsheng. He is also called the “ambassador of happy calligraphy”. All works are accompanied by an educational cartoon created by the artist himself.
He has been practicing calligraphy since he was eight years old, has written several textbooks and gives lectures on calligraphy both at home and abroad. Eighty of his scrolls can be seen at the exhibition. They are divided into three parts: copies of inscriptions on stele of famous calligraphers of antiquity made by Liu Hongsheng, his own works, as well as lecture materials.
Calligraphy is the “art of beautiful writing” or shufa in Chinese. This is the most revered form of fine art in the Far Eastern countries. Calligraphy developed over several millennia and each historical stage gave rise to a special style of writing hieroglyphs. With them, authors express their feelings, thoughts and reflect their own inner world.
