Apple introduced the new MacBook Pro based on M2 processors

The American technology manufacturer Apple has introduced a new generation of MacBook Pro laptops. Models with 14-inch and 16-inch displays are based on proprietary M2 Pro and M2 Max processors. The presentation video can be seen on the company’s YouTube channel.

The MacBook Pro with M2 Pro features a 10-core or 12-core chip with eight high-performance cores and four high-performance cores. This, according to the company, gives a performance increase of 20% compared to the M1 Pro. Up to 32 GB of RAM combined with up to 19 GPU cores.

MacBook Pro with M2 Max features a 12-core processor with eight high-performance cores and four high-performance cores. The model also features higher performance compared to the M1 Max, as well as a more powerful multimedia engine than the M2 Pro. Combined memory: up to 96 GB. Up to 38 GPU cores.

For both models, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 modules provide wireless connectivity. There are three Thunderbolt 4 (USB Type-C) ports, an SDXC slot, a 3.5mm audio jack, and HDMI 2.1. The charging format is MagSafe 3 with power support of 67W, 96W or 140W. Up to 22 hours of battery life on the 16-inch version and up to 18 hours on the 14-inch version.

The initial model with 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal memory will cost $599, or about 42 thousand rubles. The version with the M2 Pro chip, equipped with 16 gigabytes of RAM and 512 gigabytes of internal memory, is priced at $1,299, or about 90,000 rubles.
