Apple reveals the first images of the Godzilla series

Date: October 1, 2023 Time: 01:06:33

The Apple TV+ streaming service showed the first images of the new series about Godzilla. A TV spin-off titled Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters will be part of Studio Legendary’s Monsterverse universe. The series will focus on a San Francisco family that is devastated after a battle between the ancient titans.

Clues lead the family to the world of monsters, particularly army officer Lee Shaw. Wyatt Russell plays the 1950s version of him, while Kurt Russell plays him directly in the present day. According to the synopsis, The Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. How this will turn out will be seen in the ten-episode finale.

The first frames of the series, which Apple shared on the official website, depict only the Russell family. The picture also shows the heroine of Anna Sawai, known for her role in another Apple TV + project – the Road to a Thousand Li series. Kiersey Clemons, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Eliza Lasowski starred in Monarch with them.

The series was co-developed by Chris Black and Matt Fraction. The first two episodes were directed by Matt Shakman of WandaVision fame. All three are executive producers of the project. It has yet to be announced who will join Shekman as director on the remaining eight episodes. But it is known that part of the series was shot in Apple Immersive Video format for 3D playback on Apple Vision Pro headphones.

Previously, modeling legends Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista starred in the new Apple TV+ documentary series Supermodels, which explores the world of 1990s fashion. A sneak peek of the project has surfaced on YouTube.
