According to the ROSENERGOATOM press service, the incident occurred on the night of December 31 at power unit No. 3, which is under scheduled repair. Five fire brigades were immediately dispatched to put out the fire.
After extinguishing the fire, a dead worker and an injured worker were found at the scene of the fire, who was hospitalized.
The director of the Rostov nuclear power plant, Andrey Salnikov, took the investigation of the incident under his personal control.
“The families of the deceased and injured workers will receive all necessary assistance and support,” the statement said.
