According to the Kamchatka Regional Avalanche Center, an avalanche warning will be in effect from March 31 to April 2. During this period, snow masses may melt.
The mountainous territories of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Vilyuchinsky urban districts, the Elizovsky municipal districts (especially the Paratunka River basin), Ust-Bolsheretsky, Bystrinsky, Sobolevsky, Ust-Kamchatsky municipal districts and the Milkovsky municipal district are considered dangerous. Snow avalanches can descend from the Vilyuchinsky, Kozelsky, Koryaksky and Avachinsky volcanoes. Avalanche danger has been declared in the territories of the Kronotsky Nature Reserve and in the Klyuchevskaya group of volcanoes.
Experts recommend that all organizations working in the mountains, as well as tourists, athletes and hunters, refrain from visiting avalanche-prone slopes. Parents should closely monitor the whereabouts of their children and inform them about the dangers of playing at the foot of the hills.
