Avgvst showed a new collection of Millefleurs

Date: June 18, 2024 Time: 12:55:36

The Avgvst jewelry brand has presented a new collection of Millefleurs. The name means “a carpet of flowers, a style of background decoration in woven tapestries of the Middle Ages and early Renaissance.”

The capsule explores the plants in the 15th-century “Lady with a Unicorn” tapestries (and their reworked images, “digital bas-reliefs” created by artist Dmitry Kavka), rendered with a rare plausibility: they could all really grow in a medieval garden. , and any flower is easily recognizable: violets, primroses, daffodils, snowdrops.

“Each flower had its own interpretation, understandable to contemporaries in the same way that we understand emoji language today. For example, violet is a love potion, it is violet juice that is sprayed over the eyes of the elven queen Titania in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. When we saw Dmitry Kavka’s digital interpretation of these colors, we wanted to see them in three dimensions in a slightly punk interpretation, with simplified shapes, pixelated centers and liquid metal,” said Marina Kasperovich, Avgvst Design Director.

The centerpiece of the collection is a hand-assembled 50-piece fireworks earring. The jewelry is a limited edition. Also on the capsule is a crown of cuffs, a Millefleurs ring, completely covered with a floral pattern: it was hand-painted according to the work of the artist Dmitry Kavka. The inflated shape of the “maxi” ring is similar to the balloons and the Cloud Gate sculpture in Chicago.

In addition, the release includes a “chubby” medallion photo frame, into the slot of which you can really insert a photo, its reverse side is covered with a floral pattern. And the “Naked Flower” (the only non-existent flower in the collection, named after the first woman to circumnavigate the world, Jeanne Baret) appeared on the ring and pendant.

Previously, the MIUZ Diamonds brand presented a new Royal collection, which included tanzanite products. Read more here.
