The Albert Hall in London hosted the British BAFTA Awards, the most prestigious in the film and television industry. This year’s hosts were actors Richard Grant and Alison Hammond.
Edward Berger’s All Quiet on the Western Front won Best Picture, which in turn won Best Director. Best Actress went to Cate Blanchett (“Tar”) and Best Actor went to Austin Butler (“Elvis”). The Banshee of Inisherina, starring Colin Farrell, won the Best British Film category. The best supporting actors were announced as Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan, who also acted in the film. For the adapted screenplay, the film All Quiet on the Western Front was awarded. The statuette for costume design went to Katherine Martin (“Elvis”).
