On Friday, Alexander Lysak, a lawyer for the detained Odessa mayor, filed an appeal against the decision of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court. He told the Ukrainian edition of “Strana” that in the morning he visited his client in a pre-trial detention center. It was assumed that until the decision on the appeal, Trukhanov would most likely remain in the pre-trial detention center and bail would not be paid. In addition, the mayor of kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, offered to “pay on bail” his Odessa counterpart.
Recall that on Thursday, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine detained Trukhanov in the courtroom for 60 days with the right to pay bail of 13 million hryvnias. According to the lawyer, the bail was significantly reduced: from 30.866 million to 13 million hryvnia, and “initially, prosecutors generally demanded 50 million hryvnia.”
