Builders and railway workers involved in the construction of the Baikal-Amur main line gathered in the Kremlin to celebrate half a century since the beginning of the construction of the railway.

* BAM in total was built for 2 million people.

“His objects were sponsored by teams from hundreds of companies, research institutes and design organizations from all republics of the Soviet Union,” recalls Vladimir Vladimirovich.

* Builders must place second tracks in the BAM.

“It is necessary to put into operation more than 300 infrastructure facilities, including a backup tunnel for the Severomuysky, Kuznetsovsky and Kodarsky tunnels, as well as a bridge over the Amur,” Putin said.

At the ceremony, the head of the country gave awards to the BAM builders and current railway workers.

The Order of Merit to the Fatherland, II degree, was awarded to General Director of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov.

The Order of Alexander Nevsky was received by former Minister of Railways Gennady Fadeev.

The Order of Military Merit was awarded to Lieutenant Colonel of the Railway Troops of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexey Volkov.

The orders “For Brave Work” were awarded to two teams: “Bamtonnelstroy-Most” and “Group of Companies 1520”.
