According to the organizers, about 13 thousand participants and spectators visit the event every year. This year the Kolomna festival will take place on September 2 and 3 and will be dedicated to the home.
“The theme sounds like this: ‘The house that…”. This is an invitation to a joint conversation and reflection: what is a house, what is it like for us? Spectators, participants and festival heroes will give their answers, and they will become a continuation of the theme instead of an ellipsis,” the organizers say.
Kolomna will become a large and cozy house. Thus, the square will be transformed into a library, the boardwalk into a “musical room”, and the streets and squares will become “literary kitchens”, “canteens”, “home theaters”. There will be a garden near the house, here the organizers do not need to try very hard – Kolomna in September always attracts with the smell of cut grass, autumn flowers and fragrant Kolomna apples. “Apple Exchange” will also work, so you can enjoy not only smells.
The organizers of the festival also reveal the names of those on whom the “weather” in the Kolomna house will depend.
“The headliners of the festival will be the prose writer, philologist, rector of the Alexei Varlamov Literary Institute, the writer Maya Kucherskaya, the writer and literary critic Pavel Basinsky,” the Russian Cultural Foundation said in a statement.
The names of other festival participants are promised to be announced in the near future.
