The BBC has posted photos of Nshuthi Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor on the Twitter account for the sci-fi series Doctor Who. The actor is best known for the Netflix series Sex Education. Also in the images appeared his partner Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.
Gatwa will make her first appearance on the show in a special broadcast in November 2023. It is dedicated to the sixtieth anniversary of the series. Nshuti will star alongside David Tennant, known to fans of the show as the Tenth Doctor. But he will now appear as the Fourteenth Doctor. According to the creators, these are two different characters.
Russell T Davies will return as Doctor Who showrunner after directing the show from 2005 to 2009.
BBC One has released the debut teaser for a Doctor Who special episode. Katherine Tate and Neil Patrick Harris will also star in upcoming episodes.
