There are many firsts in this competition. For the first time there is a creative competition of accompanists, constant companions of the singers and co-authors of their success. And this is not by chance: Khibla Gerzmava is a first-trained pianist.
For the first time such a solid prize fund awaits the winners. The winner of the Grand Prize will receive 2.5 million rubles, and the first place will receive 1.5 million.Another option for the winners is the debut on the opera stage. The places, by the way, will be serious: the theater. Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko, the theater “Helikon-Opera” and others.
As Hibla pointed out, this competition has a very wide geography of participants.
– We review the applications of about 800 applicants from 38 countries, literally from all over the world: from Brazil, Kazakhstan, France, USA, China, Mongolia. Very good vocalists and accompanists, some of them are already working in opera houses, while others are just starting their way. They are all very young! – said Khibla Levarsovna.

According to Roman Karmanov, director general of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, not only vocalists from friendly countries, but also from so-called “unfriendly” countries submitted their videos, suggesting that culture cannot be canceled against the will of politicians.
55 participants entered the face-to-face tour: 39 vocalists and 16 accompanists.
Creative contests start today, January 13. And the names of the winners will be announced on January 22, at the same time a gala concert will be held with the participation of the best vocalists of the contest.
