British actor Benedict Cumberbatch has become the new ambassador of the Italian fashion house Prada. He has already starred in an advertising campaign. WWD reports.
In the title photo, Cumberbatch poses in front of a giant orchid against a rich black background. The actor tried on a single-breasted black coat made of thick woolen fabric with a hood and buttonholes. The advertising campaign was shot by the famous fashion photographer Willy Vanderperre.
“The campaign aims to explore the timeless and enduring values of humanity such as beauty, care and love, while blooming flowers are used as a metaphor for beauty between the everyday and the extraordinary,” Prada said in a statement.
In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch, Australian actor Cody Smith-McPhee, Chinese actor Li Xian, model Hunter Schafer and actress Letitia Wright starred in Prada’s new campaign.
It was previously reported that Prada Group will donate 1% of all proceeds from its Re-Nylon collection to the Sea Beyond educational program. Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada’s Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, made the announcement during the Assembly of Member States of UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission.
