Benedict Cumberbatch is in final talks to star in a Netflix miniseries called Eric. Variety reports it.
The action of the six-episode project will take place in New York in the 1980s. Cumberbatch will play America’s most popular puppeteer, Vincent Sullivan, whose life begins to change when his young son, Edgar, goes missing.
He is subsequently left homeless and suffers from drug addiction. Vincent finds his only life partner: Eric’s blue doll, who convinces him to go on a journey to find Edgar.
The series was written and produced by Abi Morgan. She is best known as the creator of the Emmy Award winning show The Hour.
It was previously revealed that Benedict Cumberbatch will play FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko in the HBO series. The release date of the project is still unknown. Read more here.
