Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, best known for Sherlock and Doctor Strange, will star in Dylan Sothern’s new film. The tape was called “Shut Up and Play Hits.” It is an adaptation of Max Porter’s novel Grief Is a Feathered Thing. Deadline reports.
The actor will play a young father whose life falls apart after the death of his wife. He is left alone with two children and he goes crazy. He soon begins to feel the presence of a strange mystical creature: a raven that has descended from the pages of his illustrations.
The project, tentatively titled The Feather Thing, will be produced by Andrea Cornwell, along with Adam Ackland and Leah Clark. They worked on the tape “Cat Worlds of Louis Wayne” with Cumberbatch in the lead role. The figure of the raven will be created by the English sculptor Nicola Hicks.
Porter’s novel “Woe Is a Feathered Thing” became a bestseller in 2016. The work was included in the Sunday Times list of the 100 best novels of the 21st century. In 2018, it was adapted into a sensational play.
Earlier it became known that Benedict Cumberbatch will star in the new series of the Netflix streaming service “Eric”. He will also serve as an executive producer on the project. More information about the new project can be found here.
