“No, he (Zelensky) doesn’t need F-16 now. I’m ruling it out for the moment,” the American leader said on ABC.
He noted that he listens to the opinion of the military and they believe that now there is no point in transferring the F-16 to kyiv.
Biden also admitted that he had recently discussed the supply of military vehicles with Vladimir Zelensky. “There was a private conversation with Zelensky about the F-16,” the White House said in a statement.
Earlier, Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan noted that the F-16s would not be useful to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in current battles, but could be useful to Ukraine in the long run.
