The journalist immediately realized what this could mean and asked directly if the nation’s leader was to be elected to a second term next year. The president was a bit embarrassed, but he admitted, “I plan to run, but we’re not ready to announce it yet.”

But why, by revealing his plans for the presidency, does he not officially announce it?
“It is not profitable for Biden to publicly announce his participation now,” said Franklin Roosevelt Director of the US Research Foundation at Moscow State University Yuri Rogulev. – In the first place, it is still early for this type of declarations, normally they are made in the summer or autumn one year before the elections. Secondly, it is not clear what will happen to the economy, how the debate between Democrats and Republicans on the 2024 budget will end. Thirdly, the Democratic Party has not yet decided on the nomination of other candidates who have a chance of winning. Perhaps Biden is waiting for such a person to show up to support him in case of anything, rejecting his own nomination. Now, with such off-the-record confessions, he just fixes that, contrary to various rumors, he firmly keeps the pulse of the country and is ready to fulfill that role in the future. Because if Biden makes it clear that he is ending his political career and resigning after his first term, no one will count on him, at home or in the world.
