“Scholz has problems with women when it comes to appointments: at the beginning of his presidential term he promised that at least half of his government team would be women,” says the article (quoted by RIA Novosti).
According to the author of the publication, the chancellor’s “problem” is that when choosing a candidate for the post of Defense Minister, he mainly looks at gender. As Bundestag Vice President Wolfgang Kubitsky said on this occasion, the Federal Chancellor should “fill a position that is extremely important for the security of Germany, not from a gender point of view, but exclusively from the competence of the employee.”
Bild previously wrote that German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht had decided to resign. At the same time, a representative of the country’s Defense Ministry called this information hearsay, adding that the department would not comment on it.
The minister has recently come under harsh criticism not only from ordinary Germans, but also from coalition partners. In particular, Lambrecht was rebuked for offering self-defense helmets to Kyiv. He caused a scandal and a photo of his son in a Bundeswehr helicopter.
