The publication posted a video showing an outraged crowd booing the foreign minister’s speech, calling him a “warmonger,” a “liar” and a “bandit.” Having found himself in an awkward situation, Scholz decided to justify himself by helping Ukraine, but this did not save the situation – people continued to shout and whistle, RIA Novosti reports.
Exactly the same reception awaited Dietmar Woidke, Prime Minister of the Land of Brandenburg, who appeared on stage. Both speakers tried to calm down the event participants by blaming Russia for the Ukraine crisis, but the crowd did not stop chanting slogans.
According to the newspaper, in the hands of the protesters they held the flags of the world, and in some of them Russian symbols could be seen.
Earlier, Olaf Scholz said that the conflict in Ukraine should not be frozen. According to him, the parties must fight for some kind of “just peace.” At the same time, kyiv itself is supposed to determine the conditions for peace.
