According to the agency, the restrictions will affect dual-use goods and technologies that can be used for military purposes and can strengthen the country’s industrial potential. In addition, coal, steel and gold products, investments and luxury items are supposed to be subject to the restrictions.
At the same time, it is planned to make an exception for medicines, agricultural products and food products.
It should be noted that, in accordance with EU law, anyone who helps to circumvent the sanctions imposed against Belarusian natural and legal persons will be prosecuted. To pass the proposed measures, the support of all EU member states will be required, the agency said.
Earlier it became known that the European Union is preparing the tenth package of sanctions against Russia. According to the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, it is intended to close loopholes in the restrictions already adopted. The new restrictions are supposed to be directed against those trying to circumvent Western sanctions.
