According to the agency’s interlocutors, the reason for the decision was interruptions in the supply of meat products from Russia.
“Although Kazakh companies are not subject to sanctions against Moscow, McDonald’s has banned its local franchisee from buying beef patties from Russian suppliers,” Bloomberg writes.
At the same time, agency sources explained that the franchisee could not buy chops from local or European suppliers due to higher prices and transportation costs.
McDonald’s restaurants in Kazakhstan are operated by Food Solutions KZ LLP. It suspended the activities of its establishments in the country in November.
