Bookmate and Befree are launching a competition that will be held on the Befree Co:Create HUB platform. The task of the participants is to create prints for the new line using quotes from Russian classics. In their works, the authors can collect shapes and images from words and also complement them with illustrations.
A professional jury will select six winners. Their prints will be printed on T-shirts, long sleeves, bags, notebooks and sticker packs. The competition will allow contemporary artists to present their own take on texts that everyone knows from school and will also show that literature is close to every person and can inspire creativity.
Creators can use quotes and images from the works of Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Chekhov, Gogol, Turgenev, Lermontov, Griboyedov, Ostrovsky, and Goncharov as a basis for their prints.
