“Everything that was seen at the fair was a tribute to Italy. Even the floor looks like Stracciatella ice cream,” Bottega Veneta creative director Mathieu Blazy joked after the show. In her third collection for the Italian brand, she once again celebrates Italian craftsmanship. Work suits and sweaters, as well as pajamas and slippers, are now made of lightweight leather. The delicate embroidered dresses, as conceived by Blasi, should refer to Clorida and Flora from Botticelli’s “Primavera.” The handle of the Sardine bags is now made of Murano glass, as are the details of some shoes. The collection turned out to be chaotic in a good way: there were mermaid skirts, perfect voluminous coats, delicate combinations, for men – knitted tunics, like a priest’s outfit, and blouses with leather scales. Mathieu said that he specifically wanted to create the crowd effect: we are all different and need clothes that make us feel like ourselves.
