The British Higher School of Design and the Russian brand Gate31 presented the Artifact collaboration. The basis of the work was one of the positions of the brand – the trench coat “Dixon”. Before creating products, the students went on a trip to St. Petersburg, where they studied the cultural sites of the city and got acquainted with the production of Gate31.
Ksenia Katysheva, curator of the course, says: “As part of the collaboration, we asked the students to apply all their technical and design knowledge to reinvent the basic trench coat and show their vision for the brand, without limiting themselves to a minimalist aesthetic. Students could transform an already made trench coat by working with the Dixon model, its patterns and materials, or change them completely and create a product and texture from scratch. And it was important for us to teach how to present our vision and work to industry representatives.”
Recall that earlier the British Higher School of Design in collaboration with the outerwear brand Kakvata launched a drop of accessories. The limited collection will launch in fall 2023.
