British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has apologized for being in a moving car with unfastened seatbelts, which are compulsory in England for both drivers and passengers.
He had to apologize after Sunak posted on social media a video taken in the car, which showed that his seatbelt was not fastened, even though the car was moving. After watching the video, thousands of Britons expressed their outrage at the behavior of the head of government. Furthermore, as it later emerged, the prime minister had neglected security rules solely to film the video.

A Downing Street spokesman said Sunak “fully acknowledges that this was a mistake and apologizes for it.” Also, the prime minister’s press service announced that “everyone must wear seat belts.”
The incident drew the attention of Lancashire county law enforcement, where the Prime Minister’s procession was passing through. In Great Britain, such a violation faces a fine of up to £500 (almost 43,000 rubles). Law enforcement officials have already confirmed that they issued a ticket to Sunak.
