South Korean boy group BTS leader RM has released a music video for his solo track “Closer.” This is a scene cut from Park Chang Wook’s movie “The Decision to Quit”. The video was posted on the Bangtantv group’s YouTube channel.
The musician also posted the clip on social media and captioned, “I added some lo-fi fixes to the video! I’m honored to be a part of a film that I love.”
According to NME, RM has made no secret of his love for Park Chan Wook’s mystical romance film. She told the director that she had seen the movie at least six times.
The Decision to Leave debuted at the Cannes Film Festival last year, where it won Best Director. The main roles in the tape were played by Tang Wei and Park Hae-il. In the story, the detective investigates the mysterious murder of a man, and as the investigation progresses, he falls in love with his widow.
The song “Closer” is featured on RM’s debut solo album “Indigo”, which was released on December 2, 2022. The ten-song LP is RM’s third solo release.
Earlier, the single “Boy with Luv” by K-pop group BTS and American singer Halsey became the first Korean-language song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. The composition was released in 2019 and at the same time quickly broke the record for the most viewed debut music video in YouTube history.
