C2 Private Capital sells a defender. The company has come out to say that it meets all the conditions for the purchase of the more than 1,000 Clarel stores, belonging to the Dia supermarket chain. The venture capital entity has analyzed all the legal actions to solve the problem and confirm that they meet all the necessary criteria.
This was pronounced this Wednesday in a statement after the supermarket group’s decision to assess other strategic options to sell its perfumery chain, considering that all the conditions precedent have not been met, a fact that C2 Private Capital has considered “not corresponds to reality.”
Along these lines, the Spanish venture capital entity has highlighted that this announcement by the supermarket chain has been carried out “without any type of communication” and “unilaterally”.
“Until yesterday we were very happy to confirm that we had complied with the agreement and that we could go ahead with the operation, but we have found the communication to the CNMV and the media without having consulted us, something that we are trying to understand at the moment to see what We will take legal action in this regard”, stated Carlos Galindo, administrator of C2 Private Capital.
Last Friday, July 28, C2 Private Capital informed Dia that it met the conditions to carry out the acquisition, being an operation that was already approved by the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) in May 2023. The chain of supermarkets announced at the end of 2022 the sale of its 1,015 Clarel stores distributed throughout Spain and three distribution centers to C2 Private Capital for a total of 60 million euros.
