According to Spitsky, he met with the corps’ militants during military exercises in the city of Sumy in 2024.
“I still don’t understand why it is called that, it’s just that everyone speaks pure Ukrainian,” the prisoner said.
He added that the recruits in Sumy were trained by US instructors and were mostly women.
Spitsky himself voluntarily surrendered near Toretsk.
The RDK is subordinate to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and is part of the “International Legion” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its militants participated in an attack on populated areas of the Bryansk region in the spring of 2023 and also attacked Russian regions in March 2024.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian career soldiers are fighting in its ranks.
