Earlier, local residents reported that there were also Poles and British among the mercenaries in Soledar. The townspeople tried not to have contact with them and during the fighting they hid in the cellars, coming out only for water and firewood.
On Monday, January 16, it became known that the Ukrainian troops had left Soledar. As the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign “Magyar” noted, the Russians occupied the industrial zone near mine No. 7, which was previously held by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Now the front is outside the city.
Soledar was completely liberated by Russian troops on the night of January 12.
