Chanel has announced a new collection of high jewelry. The line was called Tweed by Chanel. WWD reports.
The creative director of the fashion house’s jewelry department, Patrice Legereau, decided to repeat the weaving of Chanel’s signature fabric – tweed – from precious stones and metals. The collection consists of 63 pieces. The jewels combine gold and precious interpretations of the iconic material, as well as other hallmarks of the brand: camellia, white ribbon, golden sun and lion.
The main item was the Tweed Royal necklace with diamonds and 37 rubies. The detachable lion head can be worn as a brooch and the pear-cut diamond below transforms into a ring. The complete collection will be shown on June 7 in London.
Chanel previously reopened a seasonal boutique in East Hampton. It will run until mid-September. We talk about it in more detail here.
