Chanel, spring-summer 2023 haute couture collection

At the Chanel couture show, the Grand Palais Ephemere looked like a circus arena. The figures of horses, elephants, owls and crocodiles were created by the French artist Xavier Velan from recycled wood. Associations with the circus were also evoked by the models’ top hats, like those of the tamers. Suits in bouclé wool with short skirts or flowing shorts, jackets embroidered with bright beads of deer, foxes and corgis. To the long combinations, entirely embroidered with crystals, she wore a light organza butterfly around her neck. The collection also includes form-fitting jumpsuits, black sequin layered outfits, and ruffled coats that look like they’re made of petals. The model Anna Evers closed the show with the image of a bride, with a delicate strapless mini dress, golden ankle boots and a veil embroidered with swallows.
