The French house Chanel has announced that it will present its 2024 cruise collection in Los Angeles. The event took place on May 9.
The brand did not specify the location. Instead, he recalled that the 2008 cruise collection, designed by his late creative director Karl Lagerfeld, was shown inside the Santa Monica airport.
“This show is an opportunity for the house to celebrate its connection to the City of Angels,” the brand said in a statement.
WWD recalls that Chanel’s association with cinema dates back to 1931. Then, movie mogul Sam Goldwyn invited the brand’s founder, Gabrielle Chanel, to Hollywood. She has designed outfits for actresses like Gloria Swanson.
Previously, Chanel presented a watch collection inspired by the pincushion, the main sewing tool. She also gave the name of the capsule: Mademoiselle Privé Pique-Aiguilles. Arnaud Chastain, director of Chanel’s watchmaking workshop, said he “liked the look of this functional piece that seamstresses wear on their wrists.”
