For the first time since the start of the pandemic, China will start letting in foreign tourists.
In early January, China will lift most restrictions on foreign tourists arriving in the country and on citizens who have been abroad. The news is related to the change in policy regarding the coronavirus.
Starting on January 8 next year, the Chinese authorities will begin to ease the requirements for travelers crossing the country’s border. For example, the mandatory quarantine will be lifted and COVID-19 test results can be shown before boarding the plane, instead of being sent to the embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the host country, as previously required.
The changes are due to the fact that the authorities of the Celestial Empire decided to follow a new policy regarding the coronavirus: if before everything was subject to the rules of “zero tolerance” for COVID-19, now the PRC believes that it is necessary to adapt to the conditions of the constant presence of the coronavirus in everyday life.
Strict conditions for foreigners and citizens of the country who have been abroad have been in place almost since the start of the pandemic in 2020. At the same time, China is currently experiencing its most powerful wave of morbidity in three years. : In just three weeks of December, more than 250 million people were infected in the country, that is, almost a fifth of the entire population. country population.
